Alexander K Gibson Director of Secondary Services and Partnerships

Alex comes to HU from York’s William Penn Senior High School, where he recently taught AP Computer Science and served as the advisor to the school’s Esports team. He also is an adjunct math professor at York College.

In his new role at HU, Gibson will help build and manage the University’s College in the High School Program and other partnership programs with secondary schools.

“We are excited to welcome Alex to Harrisburg University,” said John Friend, HU Vice President of Admissions and Secondary Schools. “His understanding of dual enrollment and the value it provides high school students and HU will be invaluable as we continue to build a robust College in the High School Program as part of our future expansion efforts.”

Gibson earned a B.A. in Mathematics from Saint Vincent College. He also holds two Master’s Degrees from Wilkes University – an M.S. in 21st Century Teaching and Learning and an M.S. from the school’s Information Technology Specialist program.

Gibson completed the Pennsylvania STEM Ambassador Program in 2020 and is a NASEF Fellow and NASEF Mentor which supports HU’s Esports Program.

During his free time, Gibson enjoys spending time with his wife and two young daughters. He also enjoys reading and collecting comic books and playing video games.
