Don’t miss Harrisburg University’s Esports team, The Storm, featured on ABC27.

Amber Williams from ABC27 spoke with, Tanner Deegan, HU Storm’s League of Legends head coach, who emphasized that playing Esports is more than just playing videos games or clicking buttons, that “it’s really about the other things that provide value in your life.” For instance, students can receive scholarships from their expertise and gaming skills.

Williams continues to talk about how the Storm is growing and has added two new games, Valorant and Rocket League. Additional changes to the Storm team include breaking barriers to what is often stereotyped a male sport. HU has a recent new hire of an assistant director who is female and a Harrisburg University alum; and this coming fall we are welcoming a female player. The hope is to encourage Esports to underrepresented groups. To read more click here.
