HARRISBURG, PA – October 4, 2023 – Harrisburg University is announcing a significant expansion of its Project Management program starting in Spring 2024. Building upon its commitment to providing students with the most relevant and valuable education, the University will now offer two new specialized concentrations: Cybersecurity and Healthcare Informatics. These concentrations were developed in response to a critical business need identified by the Project Management Industry Advisory Board.

Jen Mowery, leader of the Project Management Industry Advisory Board and faculty within Agile Methodologies at Harrisburg University, emphasized the collaboration between industry experts and academia, stating, “Our Industry Advisory Board plays a vital role in shaping our curriculum to meet the demands of the job market. Cybersecurity was highlighted as a critical skill set for project managers by our board members. This expansion reflects our commitment to ensuring our graduates are not only well-versed in project management, but also well-prepared to tackle real-world challenges.”

Harrisburg University is the 2nd largest accredited M.S. Project Management program (based on total program enrollment) in the U.S. and is recognized by the Global Accreditation Center for Project Management.

Program Lead for Project Management, Dr. Tom Wise, added, “Our Project Management program has always been about preparing students for success in a rapidly evolving job market. With the addition of concentrations in Cybersecurity and Healthcare Informatics, we are ensuring that our students are not only proficient in project management, but also well-equipped to thrive in high-demand sectors.”

By improving HIT (Health Information/Informatics Technology) through strategic project management training, we improve the value, investment and ability to prioritize for the benefit of the medical team and the patient. Our Masters of Project Management with a concentration in Healthcare Informatics addresses this PMI issue head-on.

Key Benefits of the New Concentrations:

  • In-demand Skills: Both concentrations align with industries experiencing rapid growth and offer job security.
  • Diverse Career Opportunities: Graduates can pursue careers in various sectors, including healthcare, technology, finance, and more.
