Robert Pittman, Ph.D. Assistant Professor and Program Lead of Systems Engineering
Dr. Robert Pittman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University, a Master of Science degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, an Executive MBA degree from Binghamton University and a Ph.D. in Industrial & Systems Engineering from Binghamton University.
He comes to his full-time academic position at Harrisburg University with extensive industrial experience with organizations that include General Electric Co., IBM and Lockheed Martin Corp. Dr. Pittman is quite experienced in new business development, complex Systems Engineering, System Architecture development and Program Management as well as large systems implementation, integration, verification, validation and deployment.
Research Interests:
Dr. Pittman comes to Harrisburg University from an extensive background of hands-on engineering and management experience with organizations that include General Electric Co., IBM and Lockheed Martin Corp. Dr. Pittman brings experience in new business development, complex Systems Engineering, System Architecture development, Program Management and technical personnel management as well as large systems implementation, integration, verification and validation and deployment. Based on this experience, Dr. Pittman’s primary teaching and research interests are in the evolution of Large-Scale Systems Engineering as well as its application and tailoring to small commercial enterprises. Dr. Pittman is a long-time member of the IEEE, INCOSE and Beta Gamma Sigma professional organizations.
