Hulusi Yilmaz, Ph.D. Assistant Professor Physics
Dr. Yilmaz specializes in computational study of atomic and electronic properties of semiconductor materials and their nanostructures. He employs quantum mechanical computational methods to uncover and manipulate unique material characteristics that have practical applications in emerging technologies. Specifically, his interests encompass wide-bandgap semiconductors, carbon nanomaterials, topological materials, and photovoltaic cells. His current interests also include development and applications of machine learning techniques in materials science research. Dr. Yilmaz enjoys teaching a wide range of subject in physics, mathematics, and engineering.
