Harrisburg University of Science and Technology is pleased to announce enrollment of its first class of RN-BSN participants in the University’s Online Bachelor Degree Program in Nursing, beginning spring 2019.
The enrollment of the inaugural class of 22 nurses marks the University’s first step toward satisfying the nursing accreditation process with the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN).
“We look forward to contributing to the advancement of health and wellness among local, state, national, and international communities,” said Dr. Mark C. Crider, PhD, RN, Professor, and Executive Director of Nursing. “And we will work side-by-side with our RN colleagues to help them reach their professional academic and professional goals through our program.”
HU’s RN-BSN Program espouses the Institute of Medicine’s (IOM) belief that “Nurses should achieve higher levels of education and training through an improved education system that promotes seamless academic progression.”
HU also is committed to keeping its programs affordable, which is why the University is offering scholarships to colleagues enrolled in the RN-BSN Program. These gap-filling scholarships will cover any program cost not covered by employer contributions and/or other financial aid.
“We understand that nurses who enroll in the program are working professionals who are striving to better themselves and their community. That’s why we are doing all that we can to make a world-class RN-BSN program affordable to them,” Dr. Crider said. “As nurses ourselves, we are invested in the success of our colleagues.”
