HARRISBURG, PA — Harrisburg University of Science & Technology (HU) will host the 2026 Project Management Innovation Conference (PMIC 2026) on July 23, 2026, bringing together professionals, students, faculty, and industry leaders to explore the evolving future of project leadership, innovation, organizational transformation, and the many unconventional paths professionals take into leadership roles.

Centered around the theme, “Projecting the Future: From Accidental to Intentional Project Leadership,” the conference will feature speakers and interactive experiences focused on artificial intelligence (AI), leadership, workplace wellness, stakeholder alignment, digital transformation, and emerging technologies impacting modern organizations.

In addition to keynote presentations and breakout sessions, attendees will experience immersive technology demonstrations, an AI-powered conference concierge, networking opportunities, an interactive leadership lunch panel, and an end-of-day networking social designed to encourage collaboration across industries and disciplines.

This year’s keynote speaker, Danielle Roberts, will deliver a human-centered leadership presentation exploring workplace wellness, burnout prevention, communication, and the emotional realities of leading teams in high-pressure environments.

“The mission of this conference is to connect our students directly with industry, innovation, and the evolving realities of modern project leadership,” said Professor Jen Mowery, Program Lead of the Master of Science in Project Management at Harrisburg University. “Our students can attend either online or onsite at no cost as part of their learning experience, giving them opportunities to engage with professionals, emerging technologies, and conversations shaping the future of work.”

The conference will include three concurrent tracks featuring speakers from industry, academia, healthcare, technology, government, and consulting sectors. Topics will include AI and project leadership, value architecture, leadership under pressure, stakeholder communication, organizational resilience, and innovation strategy.

Project management professionals attending the conference may also be eligible to earn Professional Development Units (PDUs) applicable toward PMI certification maintenance requirements.

“Conferences like PMIC create meaningful opportunities for professionals to build new skills, expand their networks, and stay ahead of emerging trends,” said Scott Misal, Executive Director of Career Services & Professional Development at Harrisburg University. “Our goal is to connect people with the knowledge, technologies, and relationships that support career growth and organizational success.”

“PMIC continues to create opportunities for collaboration between industry, research, and emerging technology initiatives,” added Dr. John Clark, PMP, Assistant Professor and Director of the Center for Project Management Innovation at Harrisburg University. “Through partnerships with sponsors, faculty, and practitioners, we are building experiences that expose attendees to innovative ideas and practical applications that can immediately translate back into their organizations.”
