IMED 205 Critical Game Studies
This course combines approaches from history, literature, media studies, and design. A key goal of critical game studies is to develop and refine a critical vocabularly for articulating the aesthetics of games. This includes both the distinctive features unique to games and those they sheare with other forms of media and culture. Also included here are: the history of computer and digital games and toys; the construction and critique of a canon of significant and influential games; and game criticism and journalism.
