HARRISBURG, PA — From September 9–11, Harrisburg University of Science & Technology is hosting J-DAMMIT 2025: a gathering of leaders from industry, academia, and defense in downtown Harrisburg. The summit is designed to ignite excitement and innovation across the advanced manufacturing landscape. In 2025, J-DAMMIT (Joint-Defense Advanced Manufacturing Meeting for Innovation and Transition) is bigger than ever, with engaging keynote presentations, collaborative discussions, block parties, and dozens of hands-on technology demonstrations.
Across three days, attendees network with advanced manufacturing experts from diverse backgrounds while visiting equipment and material vendor displays. The expo area also includes a student poster session featuring tomorrow’s innovators.
Harrisburg University is pleased to thank Phillips Corporation, Federal Division, for sponsoring J-DAMMIT (now in its third year) since its inception and for helping to accelerate breakthroughs in advanced manufacturing for national defense.
This year, on opening day, Phillips Federal raised the bar with a $25,000 scholarship that will be presented to an incoming Advanced Manufacturing student at HU. The scholarship represents a direct investment in the next generation of engineers and technologists poised to transform American manufacturing and strengthen defense readiness.
“The J-DAMMIT Scholarship reflects our commitment to bridging the gap between academia and industry,” said Kelley Padham, President of Phillips Federal. “By empowering emerging talent, we’re ensuring the workforce of tomorrow is ready to meet the evolving challenges of modern manufacturing and defense.”
J-DAMMIT continues to grow as a national hub for thought leadership, technology exchange, and applied research. Phillips Federal’s presence and new scholarship initiative underscore the critical importance of aligning educational pathways with the real-world challenges and opportunities facing today’s defense manufacturing sector.
“I’m elated and excited that our partner, Phillips Corporation, is contributing to the future of manufacturing via our students in the Advanced Manufacturing & Robotics program,” said Dr. Richard Pitts, Jr., Program Lead for Advanced Manufacturing at Harrisburg University. “These scholarships will help to offset expenses while students pursue their education and their dreams. “Thank you for your generosity and willingness to support our learners! I look forward to future endeavors as well as the growth our continuous partnership.”
