A Harrisburg University alum’s food-service app will go live next week at HU.

Poonam Vasantha Kumar, a 2018 graduate of HU’s Information Systems Engineering and Management Master of Science Program, will introduce the HU community to Saavor, an app that college communities and businesses can use to place orders with campus kitchens and local restaurants using their meal plan, credit and debit cards.

By simply downloading the Saavor app on a mobile phone and signing up and entering a group code specific to their school or business, students, faculty, and staff can place orders to campus cafeterias and local restaurants.

There are many benefits to using the app. Users not only can skip lines and save time, but also connect to great discounts from local vendors. Vendors also are at an advantage since Saavor allows them to keep 100 percent of their profits, unlike the platform’s competitors.

Saavor has already partnered with HU, the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, the University of Texas at Arlington, Chartwells, Cooking with Corey, the Hindu Temple Society of North America, and more.
