HARRISBURG, PA – It is with profound gratitude that Harrisburg University of Science and Technology (HU) announces a new scholarship partnership with Millennium Circuits Limited (MCL), a Harrisburg-based leader in printed circuit board (PCB) design and procurement. In this first year of the partnership, MCL’s $30,000 gift establishes two brand-new, four-year scholarships for two HU Advanced Manufacturing students.

This collaboration comes at an auspicious moment; 2025 marks HU’s 20th academic year, as well as the 20th anniversary of MCL’s incorporation. The partnership highlights the organizations’ shared mission of fostering innovation, talent retention, and economic development in Pennsylvania. HU has been at the forefront of equipping STEM-educated graduates with the skills needed to expand the region’s manufacturing capacity, while MCL remains dedicated to growing Pennsylvania’s electronics industry and strengthening its workforce pipeline.

“We are thrilled to develop this partnership and truly grateful for MCL’s generosity,” said Dave Schankweiler, Interim President at Harrisburg University. “Millennium Circuits Limited – founded and headquartered right here in Harrisburg – represents the very best in PA innovation. Their focus on building Pennsylvania’s manufacturing capacity and retaining local talent in the circuit board industry is a true boon to the state. MCL’s generosity demonstrates the power of industry-academic collaboration, directly fuels Pennsylvania’s economic engine, and creates opportunities for our students to thrive.”

Dan Thau, CEO at Millennium Circuits Limited, added, “We are very excited about this partnership and the opportunity to create accessible career pathways for visionary students right here in Harrisburg. It aligns with MCL’s purpose to ‘Advance Innovation to Positively Impact Society.’ The state and the country need more STEM-minded graduates to fill vital roles throughout the manufacturing sector, and especially in circuit board design and manufacturing. Between the digitization we’re seeing across industries, and the call to expand America’s manufacturing capacity, we think this is a perfect time for our two organizations to join forces.”

A check-signing ceremony was held on Wednesday, March 19, with representatives from both organizations celebrating the partnership and the promising future of manufacturing in Pennsylvania.
