Harrisburg, Pa. – Harrisburg University of Science and Technology, with generous support from the Law Firm of McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC, will host a celebration of the energy pulsing throughout Pennsylvania’s capital city with Tech & Town Week, a week-long celebration that will entertain, educate, and enlighten throughout Harrisburg Saturday, Sept. 18 through Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021.

Tech & Town Week will feature four concerts from national recording artists including Cage the Elephant, Portugal. The Man, Dawes, and Grouplove, heralding the return of the live music we’ve missed so much and that has become an HU hallmark. Guests can cheer on the HU Storm during Tech & Town Week, as HU hosts the HUE Invitational, America’s largest collegiate esports tournament.

Other events will include a Cryptocurrency Conference, student events, a “Celebration of Innovation, Diversity, and Inclusion!” hosted by HU’s Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and more!

“Tech & Town Week is a great way to celebrate the things that make our region great, including HU’s students and staff, the city of Harrisburg, the region’s employers, and the community,” said Harrisburg University President Dr. Eric Darr. “With support from the community, both inside and outside of Harrisburg University, HU was able to pivot and continued to grow our offerings in the face of the pandemic that changed life for everyone. Tech & Town week is a thank you, and a celebration, as we all move toward an exciting future.”

A series of student-centered events that will take place during Tech & Town week include the annual Involvement Fair and a picnic on City Island. Plus, HU will celebrate its faculty and staff throughout the week with events that spotlight their innovative spirit and generosity. HU alumni and members of the community are encouraged to join in the celebration! As are regional business leaders who don’t want to miss this opportunity to meet HU’s students who could be their next employee or intern, fully equipped to recharge your workplace.

“McNees is thrilled to support Harrisburg University’s Tech & Town Week as it is a prime example of the University’s drive to encourage the growth of its students, the next generation of leaders, and the community,” said McNees Chair Brian Jackson.  “We are very much looking forward to taking part in the celebration and do so in person.”

Tech & Town Week illustrates the transformation that HU is sparking throughout central Pennsylvania and the University’s partnership with our dynamic host city that makes it possible.
