“I am Richard Alot, and this is my final semester with HU as I will be graduating with a bachelor’s in Information Systems and Information Technology.

Since I transferred to HU about two years ago, I have really seen myself grow with skills in the IT industry like troubleshooting, critical thinking and so on, mostly because internships are a requirement at HU. I did my internship at a small health clinic called Jackson Siegelbaum Gastroenterology or JSG.

At JSG, I was able to use the skills I learned previously to provide exceptional technical support in a windows environment. I respond to all IT related issues concerning software, apps and hardware.

After my internship was over, I decided to stay on as a part-timer and JSG agreed because I excelled at my position. Almost two years later, I am still working at JSG and I firmly believe it will only get better after graduation.

An interesting fact about myself is that I recently earned the CompTIA Security+ certification. Since I have a strong interest in computer security, this certification along with my degree and experience will help me get a cybersecurity job in the future.”
