HU’s first annual Career Week concluded last week with students participating in the CPEC Job & Internship Fair in Camp Hill.

Nearly 50 HU students attended the fair. And the University was delighted to hear from employers and other career services staff from other schools regarding the number of HU students that attended as well as their professionalism and respect they showed at the event.

Overall, more than 250 participated in Career Week events!

For some students it meant getting a professional LinkedIn head shot. For others, they learned about science-based job and internship opportunities with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Other students learned about an elevator pitch by attending a lunch & learn workshop or even playing the game Fun Employed at our library. Since coming back from the career fair, students have overwhelmingly agreed that they took away a lot of positive information from these events and workshops! We also have had a number of students come to visit us for career minded questions.

The University wanted to take a moment to thank each and every staff member at HU for making Career Week the success it was.  This was a complete collaborative effort among faculty and staff and all share a piece of the positive feedback we receive. Whether it was participating in our panels, or allowing us to talk about Career Week in your classes, to allowing students to attend an event, and so much more, we’re very appreciative of how you all bought in to this concept, one that we very much want to do again next year!

If any students have any follow-up questions or requests to meet with staff stemming from Career Week, please encourage them to visit HU’s Career Services & Experiential Suite in Strawberry Square.  They also are encouraged to join our two Facebook groups, one that focuses part time work while enrolled and internships (Experiential Learning) and the other which focuses more on full-time and career minded opportunities (Career Services).
