Amid the uptick of coronavirus cases spurred by the delta variant of COVID-19, businesses increasingly are asking customers to wear masks or show proof of vaccination before they are permitted inside.
Some customers have taken to creating fake vaccination cards, which is on the rise as restrictions become more stringent.
Dr. Michael Seavers, HU Healthcare Informatics Lead, recently discussed the issue with Fox43 news.
“It is effortless to fake a paper vaccination card. In fact, I have seen some paper vaccination cards for sale on the black market for $25, with the CDC logo,” Dr. Seavers said. “Think of it this way; it has become very easy for people to acquire fake licenses. With paper vaccination cards having no picture, it is straightforward to fake.”
