Jisu Dasgupta, who earned his master’s degree from Harrisburg University in 2024, directs global IT Service Management and Enterprise ServiceNow for a workforce of more than 35,000 at Maximus.
HARRISBURG, PA — A Harrisburg University of Science and Technology (HU) alumnus helped lead an enterprise technology transformation that industry judges named the best change initiative in the world this year.
Jisu Dasgupta, who earned a Master of Science in Information Systems Engineering and Management from HU in 2024, is senior IT director at Maximus, a public-sector services and technology company. In that role, he leads platform strategy for the enterprise ServiceNow platform as well as IT service management transformation supporting more than 58 federal agencies and over 35,000 users across multiple regions.
That work was recognized on May 7 with the 2026 HDI Best Change Initiative Award. HDI, which for more than 35 years has worked with technical support and service management professionals worldwide, announced the winners of its Global Service and Support Awards at HDI Service and Support World at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
Maximus was one of six organizations honored in the team award categories, alongside winners recognized for artificial intelligence, customer experience, and service and support culture.
The HDI awards recognize the individuals, teams, and organizations that have achieved and maintained the highest standards of excellence in technical support and service management. Submissions are evaluated by panels of industry experts through what HDI describes as a meticulous selection process.
“The award recognized our team’s implementation of ServiceNow as our enterprise IT Service Management system, along with major enhancements to workflows and ticket triaging that improved service delivery across the organization,” Dasgupta said.
“A change initiative of this size is never really about the software; it’s about getting thousands of people in different regions, on different teams, to trust a new way of working. The technology was the straightforward part. Designing the workflows so that the right request reaches the right person the first time, and then proving that out at scale, is where the work actually lives.”
Dasgupta’s degree program at HU sits at the intersection of technology and organizational strategy, pairing systems engineering coursework with management practice: a combination built for precisely the kind of enterprise-scale change he now leads.
“Jisu’s recognition is a clear illustration of what our Information Systems Engineering and Management program is designed to produce,” said Kevin Purcell, Ph.D., provost at Harrisburg University. “Technology creates value only when it changes, for the better, how an organization actually works. That requires graduates who can move fluidly between technical architecture and the people using it. To carry that thinking into an enterprise serving tens of thousands of users, and to have the global industry name the result the best change initiative of the year, is a tremendous credit to Jisu and the team he leads.”
Dasgupta credits his time at HU with shaping how he approaches large-scale technology work. “The program pushed me to think about systems and people at the same time,” he said. “That perspective is what I use every day.”
