HARRISBURG, PA — Harrisburg University of Science and Technology (HU) is excited to announce a new partnership with Gen.G Esports that will expand professional and international experiential learning opportunities for students pursuing careers in esports and gaming.

Gen.G Esports, headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, competes professionally in several game titles, including League of Legends, VALORANT, Rocket League, PUBG and PUBG Mobile. Gen.G’s Practicum Abroad program offers current and recent undergraduate students the opportunity to engage in special projects with the organization at its Seoul headquarters while also experiencing South Korean culture through excursions around the region.

Harrisburg University has established itself as a leader in collegiate esports and esports education through its competitive programs, academic offerings, and industry-focused learning initiatives. Through this partnership, HU students will have access to both partner-only and public Practicum cohorts over the next four years at an exclusive rate reserved for partner-university students.

Dr. Ashley Harris, Program Lead for Esports Management, Production, and Performance, commented: “This partnership gives our HU students an avenue to take their academic interests to the next level by providing international opportunities for experiential learning. No matter a student’s chosen path within the esports landscape, these practicums offer hands-on experience across many different aspects of the vast and ever-changing field of esports.”

In addition to the partnership between Gen G and HU, the university has a new Gen.G Ambassador in current Esports student Jacob Groves. Jacob is a Gen.G Practicum alum who advocates for the program and helps promote it to other students in the region.

Harrisburg University is excited to work with Gen.G to level up the experiential learning opportunities offered to HU students and recent graduates. HU students interested in learning more should email Lynzie Wagaman, Assistant Director of Esports and Partnerships, at LWagaman1@HarrisburgU.edu or Teresa Gaffney, Assistant Professor of Esports, at TGaffney@HarrisburgU.edu.
