HARRISBURG, PA — It is with great enthusiasm that Harrisburg University of Science and Technology (HU) shares a significant step forward in the continued evolution of our institution. As part of our strategic growth, Harrisburg University is adopting an enhanced academic structure designed to elevate collaboration, improve operational efficiency, and amplify the voice of our programs and faculty members.

Effective immediately, HU is launching four new academic schools to better organize and support our diverse science and technology disciplines:

  • The School of Analytics & Computational Sciences
  • The School of Applied Media & Innovation
  • The School of Engineering & Management
  • The School of Health & Science

This academic reorganization will create stronger alignment across disciplines, support long-term planning, and position HU to meet the evolving needs of our students and partners. At the core of this structure is the introduction of a new academic leadership role: the dean.

Deans will serve as key institutional leaders, charged with advancing academic excellence, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, guiding faculty development, and ensuring alignment with accreditation standards and strategic priorities. To launch this model, we are pleased to announce the appointment of four esteemed faculty members who will serve in interim dean roles as we shape the future of academic leadership at HU:

  • Dr. Roozbeh Sadeghian: Interim Dean, School of Analytics & Computational Sciences
  • Dr. Charles Palmer: Interim Dean, School of Applied Media & Innovation
  • Dr. Thomas Wise: Interim Dean, School of Engineering & Management
  • Dr. Catherine Santai: Interim Dean, School of Health & Science

We are grateful to these faculty leaders for stepping forward at this important moment. Their experience, perspective, and commitment will be instrumental as we build a stronger foundation for academic innovation and institutional impact.
