HARRISBURG, PA – From September 9–11, Harrisburg University of Science & Technology (HU) and its Center for Advanced Manufacturing & Materials, STORMWERX, will once again host the Joint-Defense Advanced Manufacturing Meeting for Innovation & Transition Summit, better known as J-DAMMIT.

J-DAMMIT unites leaders and innovators from industry, academia, government, and the armed forces to explore the latest advancements in manufacturing technologies. The event highlights hands-on demonstrations in robotics, additive manufacturing, CNC machining, hybrid manufacturing (CNC and DED), augmented and virtual reality (AR and VR), and smart-factory systems. Through live demos, discussions, and immersive experiences, J-DAMMIT provides a unique opportunity to understand how these innovations can directly support military operations, enhance the modern Warfighter, and advance the broader defense industry. The annual event attracts hundreds of participants with diverse backgrounds and expertise.

Attendees will have ample opportunities to connect with advanced manufacturing and materials specialists, gaining valuable insight into how cutting-edge technologies are shaping the future of not just defense but industry as a whole. Vendor displays showcase state-of-the-art equipment and materials in an expo-style setting, creating a vibrant environment for knowledge-sharing and discovery.

Adding to the collaborative spirit of the event, students from Harrisburg University and partner institutions will present their research through a dedicated poster session. This integration of student scholarship alongside industry and government expertise highlights the importance of preparing the next generation of innovators to contribute to defense-focused technological advancement.

“It’s an honor and a privilege to host J-DAMMIT again,” said LJ Holmes, Executive Director for STORMWERX. “This is one of our favorite events of the year, where we get to roll out the proverbial red carpet for our friends, colleagues, collaborators, and friends we haven’t met yet. J-DAMMIT offers a truly unique way to engage with emerging technologies and learn about new tools that make our community more technically capable and enhance our national defense. I don’t need to tell you that the challenge of maintaining national security is immense. Gatherings like J-DAMMIT let us not just glimpse the future but define it and push the boundaries of what’s possible. By bringing together industry leaders, academic pioneers, and government experts in one place, we’re fostering the very partnerships that will drive the future of defense.”

The event will take place at HU’s campus in downtown Harrisburg, with hands-on demos across two floors of the UPMC Health Sciences Tower at Harrisburg University. The facility is HU’s newest addition to its campus: A state-of-the-art, 11-story, 260,000-square-foot education and research tower that includes the University’s advanced manufacturing labs and reception spaces.

“Harrisburg University is dedicated to cultivating practical, curious, and ethical learners who grow into globally minded leaders,” said David A. Schankweiler, Interim President of Harrisburg University. “Hosting an event that unites defense with HU’s distinctive engine of discovery is a natural extension of our mission. It’s also a source of deep pride. Advancing safety on a global scale while fostering individual growth through STEM education empowers participants to become true guardians of the future – a future that demands thoughtful leadership and innovation.”

Harrisburg University and STORMWERX would like to thank this year’s event sponsors:
