The Burg magazine recently checked in with Frank Schofield, Harrisburg University Director of Live Entertainment and Media Services, to find out what the future of live entertainment holds for central Pennsylvania as the pandemic wanes.

“I think demand is going to be off the hook,” Schofield said. “The industry has been roaring to get back,” Schofield said. “We haven’t been able to do what we do.”

HU decided to follow the lead of other music venues and festivals around the country, opting to schedule shows for August and September. Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Cage the Elephant, Dawes and Portugal. The Man are slated to perform at Harrisburg’s Riverfront Park. HU also plans to have shows throughout the fall, Schofield said.

“We had a great run right before the pandemic, and we are ready to pick up where we left off,” he said.
