Harrisburg University congratulates the Susquehanna Soniqs professional Esports team on winning the PUBG Global Invitational.S championship this week.

The Harrisburg-based team, for which HU President Dr. Eric Darr and Professor Charles Palmer help provide strategic direction and content for, beat out 31 other teams during a six-week tournament at Studio Paradise in Incheon, South Korea.

The team competed in a game called Player Unknown Battle Ground (PUBG) during the tournament which marked the beginning of the 2021 season organized by PUBG Corporation. The championship also represents a profitable start to the season for the Soniqs who won a nearly $1.3 million prize.
