Harrisburg University of Science and Technology has announced the winners of its 2021 Spotlight Awards, annual honors that recognize those dedicated to the mission and goals of the University.

In its sixth year, this year’s awards will be given to partners who supported Harrisburg University prior to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and whose support has been especially important to the University during the past year.

The following are recipients of the 2021 Spotlight Awards:

  • Honored Alumnus of the Year: Sweta Shah, M.S. Class of 2017. Shah’s support has been integral to the development of the HU Alumni Network.
  • Dedicated Government Representative: Harrisburg Bureau of Police. The bureau’s presence at HU events and throughout the University’s facilities is critical in creating a safe, secure environment for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Business Partner of the Year: Property Management, Inc. (PMI). PMI’s support of HU facilities has been crucial since the inception of the University. And its services have been critical to controlling the cost of managing and operating our facilities during the pandemic.
  • Valued Community Partner: Central Pennsylvania Food Bank. The food bank has supported HU students through the pandemic with substantial food donations.

Recipients will receive the awards during the University’s annual Founder’s Day awards set to take place virtually at 8:30 a.m. on March 31.
