Harrisburg University President Dr. Eric Darr recently joined abc27 news to discuss HU possibly becoming fertile recruiting ground for the U.S. Space Force.

Some U.S. military experts say students who attend schools like HU – those focused on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) – are ideal recruiting ground for Space Force recruits.

For the third consecutive year, Corporate LiveWire has named HU the U.S. STEM University of the Year. And Dr. Darr said HU’s STEM curriculum aligns well with the mission of the Space Force.

“Advanced technology programs, advanced analytics programs, physics programs, (our students’) talents are exactly what’s needed,” Darr said. “These very sophisticated tracking systems or microwave systems or laser-based systems, they could help with. They could also work with private contractors to develop new capabilities.”
