If you’ve been on Facebook over the last few days, you’ve probably seen the ’10 Year Challenge’ pop up. While it may seem harmless, taking part could make you vulnerable to hackers.

Harrisburg University associate professor of cybersecurity Dr. Terrill Frantz advises that people avoid challenges and quizzes like this on social media.

WGAL recently interviewed Frantz on the topic. View the segment here https://www.wgal.com/article/facebook-10-year-challenge-could-make-you-vulnerable-to-hackers/38749419#

Frantz notes that quizzes and challenges are often used for data mining, and it’s a sneaky way for hackers to get take over your computer.

Harrisburg University offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees in cybersecurity. Additionally, the University offers professional development programs on the topic. For more information on the programs, please visit https://www.harrisburgu.edu/programs/
