Harrisburg University extended move-in day into move-in week to accommodate social distancing practices as students settle into their dorms ahead of the start of the fall semester on Monday, Aug. 30.

Everyone must wear masks while inside campus buildings. And HU has installed touchless doors, faucets, soap dispensers, and voluntary temperature scanners on campus to also help students and staff stay safe as undergraduate students return for in-person classes.

ABC27 news spoke with HU President Dr. Eric Darr about the safety measures the University has adopted to help keep everyone on campus safe during the pandemic.

“We have spent a lot of time and money on technology and protocols to keep people safe, and I hope that is sufficient, but the outside world we can’t control,” Dr. Darr said.
