The Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology is launching a new program targeting veterans.  The program, called ‘launchU for Veterans’ is being finalized and the application will be through an online form on the CIE website https://cie.harrisburgu.edu/

The cost will be $7,500 for the nine weeks, which CIE executives hope will be covered by a sponsoring company/organization, so it is free or substantially discounted to the veterans. It will be hybrid, as in-person teamwork is part of the program. The goal is to bring the vet’s business idea to life with a semi-structured curriculum, including assignments.

Under the leadership of executive director Jay Jayamohan, CIE plays an important role in a broader national movement of innovation incubators and entrepreneurial ecosystems that empower inventors to build successful ventures by providing tools, resources, and opportunities to make a difference in communities where they live and work. The launchU for Veterans Accelerator program combines Ideation, Accelerator, and Incubator, defining a clear path from concept to business for founders.

ABC27 and CBS21 recently covered the new program for veterans.  Watch the segments here  https://www.abc27.com/news/top-stories/harrisburg-university-to-launch-program-to-help-veterans/  and here https://local21news.com/news/facing-the-future/new-central-pa-program-helps-guide-veterans-through-entrepreneurship

Jayamohan is a leading expert in disruptive innovation, design thinking, and strategic management. He has worked extensively with Fortune 500 and Global 1000 companies, the US government, startups, venture capitalists, and foundations. As executive director of the Harrisburg University Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, he is responsible for creating a multi-pronged, interconnected hub that aligns business activities across campus and across disciplines. He leads the effort to establish this important permanent center of innovation to create greater impact, social and business, by having innovative thinkers and entrepreneurs from Harrisburg who join with students, faculty and society to collaborate on ideas and solve problems.
