Congratulations to Jamal Jones for recognition this month by both the Patriot-News (PennLive) and City & State Pennsylvania, who have honored Mr. Jones with well-deserved recognition for being a “trailblazer” and a “trendsetter.”

Jamal Jones currently serves as the Program Manager at the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) at Harrisburg University. He passionately supports aspiring entrepreneurs and provides advice and coaching, along with oftentimes life-changing connections with mentoring programs and business financing. Additionally, he organizes community events to encourage individuals who are contemplating their entrepreneurial journey but may not know where to start.

The February 2024 PennLive profile on Mr. Jones reads:

“PennLive marks Black History Month by recognizing ‘trailblazers and trendsetters’ – leaders and advocates in Central PA working to uplift their communities through their work, businesses, arts, ministries, and mentorships. We’ll publish more than 35 profiles of doctors, nurses, gardeners, ministers, educators, entrepreneurs, athletes, philanthropists, restauranteurs, authors, actors, and others, nominated by readers.”

City & State Pennsylvania, in its “2024 Black Trailblazers” series, powered by the PA Chamber for Black-Owned Businesses, also recognized Mr. Jones this month:

“Pennsylvanians are shattering glass ceilings and brokering power across a wide range of industries. With honorees including mayors, corporate titans, influential attorneys, award-winning entrepreneurs, and media powerhouses, this year’s compilation of 100 Black Trailblazers showcases the range of Black professionals’ expertise and achievements in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

A multifaceted community builder, Jones managed federal workforce development contracts exceeding $1 million while overseeing employment and training programs in South-Central Pennsylvania. Under Jones’ leadership, the CIE at Harrisburg University was in 2022 recognized with a Catalyst Award from the Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC. The achievement showed that the Center had come into its own as an acknowledged regional institution and a doer of good works throughout the community.

Jones aspires to leave a legacy of empowering individuals to achieve their business dreams and uplift the city of Harrisburg. He credits his motivation to his parents:

“My parents are huge influences who taught me about the importance of helping others by being generous with your time and resources. Much of what I do is just to make them proud. Hearing people say, ‘thank you’ for the innovative programs and services that we offer may not seem like a big deal, but to me it is very rewarding.”

Harrisburg University extends its heartfelt congratulations and deep gratitude to Jamal Jones for his years of service to the university’s mission and the community’s development.
