What: The HUE Invitational is one the nation’s largest collegiate esports tournaments hosted right in the heart of Downtown Harrisburg. The 2023 HUE Invitational will feature 16 colleges and universities and close to 30 top teams all vying for the HUE Invitational Championships in League of Legends, Rocket League, and for the first time, Valorant. While this is the 6th iteration of the event, this is the 5th in-person HUE LAN hosted at the university. Intel is joining us again as a presenting sponsor for the event. They have helped provide us with Intel® NUC 11 Extreme Kit NUC11BTMi9 (Beast Canyon) 11th Gen PCs for HUE’s competition space. We also worked closely with Viewsonic to bring in ViewSonic XG2431 monitors for competitors to utilize.
HUE this year will also be run primarily by Harrisburg University esports student volunteers. Students from the esports management, production, and performance major along with other programs at HU will be coming together to help administrate the tournament, broadcast matches, and assist competing schools throughout the entire event.
Harrisburg University is one of the most notable collegiate esports programs in the country with 3 national championships via the former Overwatch2 team and 2 “Best Collegiate Esports Program” titles from the Tempest Awards (2019, 2020).
