Harrisburg University student, Mai-Lani Pridgen, President of NAACP Harrisburg University Chapter, recently hosted a pop-up shop for black-owned businesses at Harrisburg’s La Cultura event space.

Pridgen discussed the effort with CBS21 News, saying she planned the Black History Month event because she knows small businesses are hurting due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We wanted the event to bring all these small businesses together and just kind of give them the exposure that they’re looking for, some of them are very new,” said Pridgen.
