Reports have shown that clinics often dump leftover doses of COVID-19 vaccines in the trash.

Some clinics, however, have found ways to minimize vaccine waste, allowing more individuals to receive the vaccine.

Harrisburg University Pharmaceutical Sciences Professor Dr. Erik Hefti recently weighed in on the issue in a recent MEDPAGE TODAY article.

“The vaccines are going to go bad anyway. You might as well give [such] individuals the vaccine,” Hefti said.
