Dr. Mehdi Noorbaksh, Professor of International Affairs and Business at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology, will present “U.S. Foreign Policy in the Middle East: The case of Iran” to the Indiana Council on World Affairs in September.

Dr. Noorbaksh lecture is part of the council’s Distinguished Speakers Series and will take place at The Willows on Westfield in Indianapolis the evening of Sept. 19.

Professor Norobaksh will discuss the Iranian Revolution, a classic revolution carried out by the middle class, educated women and men and part of the cleric in 1979. The revolution later was radicalized and could not live up to its promise of freedom, democracy, and social justice.

War in the Middle East can easily be ignited, but it cannot be ended easily. it will involve many parties and can have a devastating impact on the stability and security of the region, according to Dr. Noorbaksh.
