Dr. Ozlem Cosgun of the Harrisburg University of Science and Technology faculty will lead a session at an annual meeting with more than 5,500 analytics and data science academics.

The associate professor of Information Systems and Operations Management will be a session chair for the INFORMS 2023 Annual Meeting, Oct. 15-18, in Phoenix, Arizona. Her session entitled “Machine Learning Applications” will have four presentations.

INFORMS is the largest professional association for decision and data sciences.

 This session welcomes the submission of all original, innovative, and creative Machine learning and Deep learning application research papers in healthcare, environment, business, energy, and manufacturing. The main objective is to promote key scientific advances and applications in these fields and drive emerging research topics.

Dr. Cosgun has 10+ years of teaching experience at several universities. Before joining HU, she taught undergraduate and graduate courses such as Operations Research, Mathematical Modelling, Applied Statistics, Data Analysis, Predictive Analytics, Analytics Programming, Information Systems and Management, Introduction to Research and Quantitative Research Methods. At HU, she teaches graduate-level courses such as Research Methodology and Writing and Graduate Thesis.

Her research interests include Operations Research, Data Analytics, Data-driven Prescriptive Analytics, Operations Management, Quantitative Management, and Healthcare Management and Optimization. She has published 40+ publications in peer-reviewed journals and conferences in those areas. She is also an affiliate of the INFORMS Optimization Society and Analytics Society.
