HU Analytics Professor, Dr. Doaa Taha, was among a small group of American civic & business leaders of Arab descent recognized at the Washington Nationals Park Stadium just before their game vs.the Philadelphia Phillies during American Arab Heritage Night at the ballpark Thursday evening.

Taha was honored in her capacity as the founding Chair of the Women’s Empowerment Forum, part of the ADC (American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee), the largest and oldest grass roots civil rights organization of the Arab-American community defending and promoting the values enshrined in the United States Constitution. She also was recognized for launching the Youth Empowerment Program.

The celebration was co-sponsored by the Washington Nationals and the sports NGO Because Baseball, which Taha and her organization helped in its efforts to build bridges between the U.S. and the Arab World, by promoting American Baseball in Arabia. Starting with a program that has seen more than a thousand kids from Egypt (mostly from underprivileged backgrounds) being trained to play baseball by US coaches, it now is preparing to expand to Jordan, the Arabian Gulf and beyond.
