Harrisburg University’s online computer science program has been ranked #2 among the 5 best online programs in Pennsylvania, according to a report just released by Computer Science Zone.

Computer Science Zone is a website dedicated to “providing useful, authoritative resources and rankings for Computer Science and IT students, both prospective and current.”

The website used the demographics of people who are likely to pursue online degrees to create “The 5 Best Online CS Degree Providers” rankings. Those likely to pursue such degrees include: continuing learners, busy professionals or parents, or students looking for more flexibility and affordability than traditional degree programs provide, the report said.

Rankings were based on how many online computer science degrees a university offers, traditional academic quality components such as student-faculty ratios, admissions standards and how many professors have terminal degrees in their field.

Other schools that made the list include Carnegie Mellon University, Lehigh University, La Salle University and Immaculata University.
