Harrisburg University of Science and Technology has played a significant role in rejuvenating the local music scene in downtown Harrisburg. The city is now welcoming bands with passionate and growing fan bases. This trend of attracting talented bands with dedicated followers has been filling a void in the region’s concert scene that had been diminishing for decades.

The University, through its concert series led by Frank Schofield, has been instrumental in bringing these bands to Harrisburg. Schofield is the director of live entertainment & media services for Harrisburg University.

PennLive recently interviewed Schofield and others about the music scene. The article appears here:  https://www.pennlive.com/life/2023/06/how-harrisburg-became-the-place-to-see-the-coolest-bands-youve-never-heard-of.html

The return of vibrant live music to Harrisburg underscores the importance of Harrisburg University’s role in fostering artistic and cultural experiences within the community. By attracting notable bands and reconnecting people with the magic of live performances, the University is creating lasting memories and contributing to the thriving cultural landscape of the city.
