As in the past, HU continues to monitor data, governmental requirements, and medical best practices regarding COVID-19, its variants, and now, the flu.

Given the recent spike of COVID 19 cases related to the Omicron variant, HU will be moving all in-person, undergraduate classes in Harrisburg and Philadelphia to a virtual format. This delivery change will be in effect beginning January 10, 2022 through February 4, 2022.

The current plan is to resume all scheduled on-campus courses to in person on February 7th. However, HU will continue to monitor the data and trends and communicate any change in this course of action as soon as possible based on the best possible information available from the medical community and governmental agencies. If HU needs to extend the virtual courses and services to allow for physical distancing, HU will provide the community with at least a week’s notice for planning purposes.

The health, safety, and welfare of the HU community continues to be a priority. Students should continue to monitor their HU email for any updates from the covid19@harrisburgu.edu email and HU’s COVID 19 webpage.

Student housing remains an option for students that wish to be in campus-affiliated housing. However, strict physical distancing and guest policies will be in place. Please watch for a separate email from housing@my.harrisburgu.edu for those students who have on-campus housing.

Need help connecting with a resource? MyHU, the Student Services Sharepoint site, and the Support Portals are places to start. You can also reach out to studentsuccess@harrisburgu.edu for assistance.

We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we continue to monitor the situation. Please reach out to covid19@harrisburgu.edu if you have any questions.

Any HU student who is experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, or academic stress as a result of the decision is welcome to contact either the HU counseling center, counseling@harrisburgu.edu, or the BHS Student Assistance Program for confidential support. You can log in via the app/web, https://portal.bhsonline.com, or call 800-327-2251. The username is HarrisburgU.
