U.S. News & World Report has confirmed what we at Harrisburg University already knew – HU is one of the most innovative universities in the U.S.

In its just-released 2020 list of Most Innovative SchoolsU.S. News & World Report ranked Harrisburg University among the top 25 Most Innovative Regional Universities in the North. Regionally divided, the ranking is based on responses from top academics who participated in a peer assessment survey during the spring of 2019.

“Innovation is a constantly moving target, and Harrisburg University is thrilled to be recognized for its bold attitude and game-changing ideas,” said HU President Dr. Eric Darr. “In today’s global, fast-paced economy, the price for failing to innovate is stagnation. Our faculty, staff, and students never rest in the search for groundbreaking discoveries and entrepreneurial breakthroughs. Our new Health Science Education Center tower embodies our aspirations to change the face of higher education. This recognition – extra-special because it comes from our peers – proves that we are at the leading edge of a movement to make college relevant through the never-ending drive for innovation.”

College presidents, provosts, and admissions deans were asked to nominate up to 15 colleges or universities in their U.S. News Best Colleges ranking category that are making the most innovative improvements in terms of curriculum, faculty, students, campus life, technology or facilities.

Harrisburg University was ranked #21 among 31 schools to make the list from the same region. HU is one of only five universities from Pennsylvania on the list.
