A Harrisburg University (HU) alum who has successfully operated her own women’s consignment clothing boutique for more than a decade in central Pennsylvania announced the start of her second business Wednesday.

Alexandria Keener Hammond, owner of My Girlfriend’s Wardrobe, has added Preston & jayne home decor & gifts to her business portfolio. An idea five years in the making, Preston & jayne will launch with a retail display inside My Girlfriend’s Wardrobe, which is open seven-days-a-week at 38 N. Beaver Street in downtown York, on March 22.

Keener Hammond, who graduated from HU in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in New Media (Since renamed Interactive Media), credits her time at HU for much of her success.

“During my time at HU studying new media design and production, I learned so many things about graphic design, video editing, and web design. All of these lessons are applied daily in each of my businesses,” she said. “Whether it’s coming up with the concept for the Preston & jayne promotional video, editing videos for social media, or creating graphics for events, my time at HU continues to show up in every design project I create.”
