Commonwealth Health Wilkes-Barre General Hospital employees and their spouses/partners have been granted unprecedented access to Harrisburg University of Science and Technology courses and programs thanks to a recent agreement reached between the university and the hospital.

Through the agreement, hospital employees and their spouses/partners will receive a significant reduction in tuition and training fees for Harrisburg University undergraduate, graduate, certificate, and training programs beginning January 1, 2020.

“We are very pleased to partner with Harrisburg University on this initiative which will bring outstanding educational opportunities to our employees,” said Commonwealth Health Chief Executive Officer Cornelio Catena.

Ranked the #1 STEM University in the U.S. during the past two years by Corporate LiveWire, Harrisburg University courses and programs are delivered in various formats. Whether in person, online, or via an accelerated format, eligible employees and their spouses/partners can enroll in any Harrisburg University program – including adult education courses – at a reduced rate, courtesy of the agreement.

“We are pleased to partner with Commonwealth Health Wilkes-Barre General Hospital to provide this opportunity,” said Harrisburg University President Dr. Eric Darr. “The agreement ensures that hospital employees and spouses have full access to an affordable, world-class science and technology education.”
