Harrisburg University of Science and Technology is set to host the PA BioGENEius 2023 virtual event on May 24, 2023, from 9 am to 2 pm. The event will showcase innovative biotechnology research projects submitted by high school students across the US.

Coordinated by Dr. Leena Pattarkine, who leads undergraduate and graduate programs in Biotechnology at HU, and sponsored by Harrisburg University in collaboration with Biotech Institute, the BioGENEius Challenge is a prestigious science competition that provides opportunities for high school students to showcase their talents in biotechnology research.

The winner of the PA BioGENEius Challenge will have a chance to participate in the National and International BG 2023 to be held virtually in June 2023. This will offer an excellent opportunity for the winner to compete with other top students worldwide.

Dr. Pattarkine, a renowned biochemist with a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology, is delighted to be part of this initiative. She believes that the BioGENEius Challenge provides a unique opportunity for high school students to showcase their talents and inspire others to pursue careers in biotechnology.

As the Director of the Capital Area Biotechnology Partnership, Dr. Pattarkine has been instrumental in promoting biotechnology research and development in the region. Her extensive experience in biochemistry, biotechnology, and nanobiotechnology makes her an invaluable resource for the BioGENEius Challenge.

We invite all interested participants to visit www.biotechinstitute.org or contact LPattarkine@HarrisburgU.edu for more information on the challenge. We are excited to witness the outstanding research projects showcased at the PA BioGENEius 2023 virtual event on May 24th.
