The Harrisburg Regional Chamber and the Capital Region Economic Development Corporation (CREDC) recently announced the results of new leadership appointments as they expand their boards of directors. These additions bring new perspectives and insights to the organization, which has served the capital region and beyond since 1884. The Harrisburg Regional Chamber is recognized as 5-Star Accredited: a status currently awarded to just 5 percent of chambers in the United States.

Zachary Khuri is the new Chair for the Harrisburg Regional Chamber’s Board of Directors and Katie Clarke is the new CREDC Board of Directors Chair. “We are excited to get to work under the leadership of two incredible community servants,” said Ryan C. Unger, CEO and President of CREDC and the Harrisburg Regional Chamber. “Zack and Katie are passionate about engaging our board and the region’s business community to help us fulfill our mission.”

Ryan T. Riley, Vice President of Advancement at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology, is another new face among the community leaders serving the Chamber and CREDC. The 2024 additions to the CREDC Board of Directors are:

  • Art Campbell (Campbell Commercial Real Estate)
  • Lisa Hughes Gabler (Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney)
  • Lisa Myers (Boyer and Ritter)
  • Ryan T. Riley (Harrisburg University)

“It’s an honor to be counted among this group of insightful individuals,” Mr. Riley said. “Harrisburg University is pleased to be recognized as a catalyst for economic empowerment as we cultivate talent in the region to make positive impacts on the community.”

Riley’s appointment to the CREDC Board of Directors expands HU’s presence in this community- and economy-building organization. Dr. Eric Darr, President of Harrisburg University, has been a member of the Board of Directors for the Harrisburg Regional Chamber since 2023. A complete list of board members is available at the Harrisburg Chamber website.

Today, the Harrisburg Regional Chamber serves over 900 business members and represents more than 130,000 employees throughout the region. The organization names inclusivity, data-driven evaluation, collaboration, and positivity among its chief values. Talent from Harrisburg University is a natural fit with this culture of technology-backed economic support and development.
