An “intrapreneurship” program, which lets employees act like entrepreneurs by developing new products or services, is an unconventional benefit that can help boost productivity and retention.

The Society for Human Resource Management recently tackled the topic of employee entrepreneurs in an article, Encouraging Employees to be Intrapreneurs Pays Off, and interviewed Jay Jayamohan Executive Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology.
