With flu season upon us, many people wonder whether it is safe to get a COVID-19 vaccination and flu shot.

HU Population Health Professor, Dr. Nancy Mimm, recently weighed in on the matter with ABC27 news.

People should get the flu shot as soon as possible, Mimm said. And it is safe to get it and the COVID-19 vaccine at the same time, because the shots do not interact with each other, she said.

“Please listen to your healthcare professionals that have stood beside you for their entire, long, careers. Get your vaccinations so you can be healthy and keep your community healthy,” Mimm said.
