It’s that time of year when pictures of kids heading back to school take over social media accounts and message boards.
Parents might want to reconsider posting pictures of their children holding a chalkboard or posterboard containing personal information such as their child’s age, grade, teacher, and school name, however, Dr. Terrill Frantz, Harrisburg University eBusiness and Cybersecurity recently told ABC27 News.
“Any information about your children posted on the Internet is risky and should be avoided as much as possible,” Frantz said. “Presently, a parent has little idea as to what is important or not to their child when they become an adult, so assessing the risk of posting something today and its impact on your child’s life 10-20 years from now is impossible.”
