Biography
Theresa brings over 15 years of experience in esports, digital media, and higher education to her work in the classroom.
Theresa began her career with the Collegiate Starleague (CSL) in 2011, where she advanced to Editor-in-Chief and oversaw global tournament coverage and digital content strategy. She has worked with organizations including PlayStation Competition Center, TED Conferences, and Community Gaming as a writer, editor, and communications strategist. In 2019, she launched Messiah University's esports program, leading its development for four years before returning to Harrisburg University as faculty in 2024.
Her background in education includes formal study and work in secondary education and international teaching experience at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (CUFS campus) in Seoul, South Korea. In addition to her work in esports and media, Theresa is a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor, and the founder of Metacognition Counseling, a private practice specializing in healthy gaming and digital wellness.
Theresa holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in History from Queens College, City University of New York, and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Messiah University.
