Lorelee Isbell Vice President of Strategic Workforce Development

Lorelee Isbell is the Vice President of Strategic Workforce Development at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology. In this role, Lorelee provides visionary leadership to advance the university’s workforce development initiatives, forges impactful industry partnerships, and creates innovative programs that address regional and national workforce needs. She is dedicated to aligning education with evolving labor market demands, fostering strategic collaborations with employers, and driving economic growth through the development of skilled and adaptable talent.

With extensive experience in higher education leadership, Lorelee excels in creating pathways that prepare students for successful careers while strengthening connections between academia and industry. She is passionate about designing workforce solutions that enhance career readiness, support upskilling and reskilling initiatives, and contribute to the vitality of the communities Harrisburg University serves.

Prior to joining the team at Harrisburg University, Lorelee served as the Associate Vice President for Career and Workforce Development at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. In this role, Lorelee spearheaded innovation to fortify career readiness initiatives, expand workforce development opportunities, and played a pivotal role in supporting regional economic growth through the strategic acquisition and retention of top-tier talent in South Central PA.

In addition to her time at Shippensburg University, Lorelee also worked at the Office of the Chancellor for Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education for 23 years. During this period, she provided strategic vision and leadership for two higher education centers situated in Harrisburg and Philadelphia. Her efforts were focused on not only increasing access to higher education but also providing premier meeting and event spaces for a diverse array of companies and organizations. Lorelee played a central role in fostering partnerships and collaborations, working closely with leaders across the 14 State System universities to shape and implement impactful continuing education and workforce development initiatives.

In addition to her professional responsibilities, Lorelee actively contributes to various committees, holding key positions within esteemed organizations such as Leadership Harrisburg Area, South Central PA Works, and the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning. Her commitment to community is highlighted by her current role on the Community Carepoint board of directors. She earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Messiah College and her master’s degree in organizational development and leadership from Shippensburg University.
