Biography

Dr. Lauren Durkin currently serves as Director of Accreditation and Assessment. Prior to this role, Dr. Durkin held various leadership and academic positions, including Program Manager for Exam Development at the International Code Council and Manager of Accreditation and Assessment for the Norm Brodsky School of Business at Rider University. In these roles, she focused on leading and supporting academic program processes, coordinating with faculty and staff, and monitoring changes in accreditation standards.

Dr. Durkin earned a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Professional Studies from Holy Family University and, in the spirit of lifelong learning, recently completed an MBA from Eastern University. Her research has focused on transversal competencies in higher education, the importance of transparency in assessment practices, and the role of heutagogy in prior learning assessment. Her work has been published in The Handbook of Research on the Future of Work and EducationAssessment Update, and has been presented at the Faculty of the Future Conference and the National Institute on Assessment of Adult Learning.

In addition to her research, Dr. Durkin is passionate about teaching. She has recently collaborated with colleagues on courses related to Human Resources and has mentored students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Her contributions to assessment transparency have helped enhance student efficacy.

Dr. Durkin is excited to bring her experience in accreditation, assessment, and student success to her new role, where she will continue to place students at the heart of efforts aimed at achieving academic excellence.
