New 7-week course format

A focused course structure beginning January 2027.

Beginning January 2027, Harrisburg University is transitioning graduate programs from traditional 14-week courses to a flexible 7-week course structure designed to help students stay focused, better manage their schedules, and balance academic and professional responsibilities.

Fewer Courses at One Time

Students concentrate on one course at a time instead of managing multiple courses simultaneously.

Structured Academic Progression

The 7-week format supports steady progress through coursework while maintaining full-time enrollment requirements.

Greater Flexibility

Shorter course terms support students balancing employment, travel, family, and professional commitments.

Increased Engagement

Focused course schedules help students stay engaged, organized, and connected to course material throughout each term.

Scholarship Opportunities

Start strong with scholarship support.

Eligible HU students, HU alumni, and others may qualify for referral rewards, including the HMS (Howell Management Services) Referral Scholarship, designed to support enrollment and academic success.

Refer a Student. Earn a Scholarship.

Open the door to opportunity and be rewarded. When you refer a new student who enrolls at HU, you become eligible for a $1,000 referral scholarship. The scholarship is applied after your referred student completes their first semester and enrolls in a second semester. Current HU students: You must be enrolled at HU at the time of referral to qualify. HU Alumni and others: If you’re an HU alum or not currently enrolled, you can still refer a student and receive a $1,000 referral award.
