HARRISBURG, PA — Harrisburg University of Science & Technology (HU) professor Leena Pattarkine, Ph.D., has been invited to serve on the Editorial Review Board of The International Journal of Biological Markers: an international, peer-reviewed journal focused on the application of biomarkers in cancer research.

Published by Sage in association with the Organisation for Oncology and Translational Research, The International Journal of Biological Markers (IJBM) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to cancer biomarkers in solid tumors in adult subjects. Its scope spans the screening and early diagnosis of cancer, prognostic assessment, and the prediction and monitoring of treatment response.

“Serving on the Editorial Review Board is both an honor and a privilege,” Pattarkine said. “I am grateful for this recognition of my expertise in cancer nanobiotechnology and biomarkers, and I look forward to contributing to the journal. This role will allow me to expand my knowledge while assisting with the evaluation of manuscripts for publication.”

Pattarkine leads HU’s master’s-level biotechnology program and serves as director of the Capital Area Biotechnology Partnership (CABP). She holds a doctorate in biochemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology, India (IIT, Powai) and has extensive experience in biochemistry, biotechnology and nanobiotechnology.
