LaVonne Couch, PT, DPT, EdD Associate Professor, Doctor of Physical Therapy
LaVonne Couch, PT, DPT, EdD is an Associate Professor in the new hybrid Doctor of Physical Therapy at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology. LaVonne is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is LSVT-BIG certified. Her clinical experience is primarily with adult and geriatric populations in the home health and acute care settings.
Dr. Couch completed a Doctorate in Educational Innovation and Leadership at Wilmington University and a Post-professional Doctorate in Physical Therapy at The College of St. Scholastica. She is a long-time volunteer with the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy, receiving an Outstanding Service Award in 2016, having been inducted into the Academy of Advanced Item Writers in 2014, and is currently serving on the FSBPT Education Committee.
With an 18-year background in PT and PTA education and program development, Dr. Couch’s research interests lie within clinician-to-faculty mentorship and development, the scholarship of teaching and learning, and the evaluation of new digital/technology healthcare solutions.
